Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 23, 2026
At Ayaresa Voices, your trust and privacy are core to the healing work we do. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language because we believe transparency is part of care.
Who we are
Ayaresa Voices ("we," "us," "our") is a community healing organization. This policy covers our website at ayaresavoices.com.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us at info@ayaresavoices.com.
What we collect
We try to collect as little personal information as possible. Here's everything:
Information you give us directly
- Contact form submissions. When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the message you send. We use this only to respond to you and, where appropriate, follow up about the resources you asked about.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data (only if you accept cookies). If you click "Accept" on our cookie banner, Google Analytics sets cookies that help us understand how visitors find and use the site — for example, which pages are read most, how people arrive, and roughly where in the world they are visiting from (city or region level, not precise location).
- Cookieless measurement (always on if analytics is enabled). Before you accept or decline, Google Analytics runs in a privacy-preserving "consent denied" mode. In this mode, it sends anonymous, aggregated pings — no cookies are set, no personal identifiers are collected, and IP addresses are redacted. This helps us count visits without tracking individuals.
- Technical request data. Like every website, our servers temporarily log standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) so we can keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and rate-limit spam submissions. This is not used to track you across sessions.
What we don't collect
- We don't sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We don't use advertising, remarketing, or behavioral profiling cookies.
- We don't share your contact form submissions with third parties for marketing.
- We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage:
- Cookie consent preference. We store your choice (accept or reject) in your browser's local storage under the key
ayaresa-cookie-consentso we don't keep asking you. This contains nothing but the word "granted" or "denied." - Google Analytics cookies (only after you accept). Cookies named
_gaand_ga_*are set by Google to count and distinguish visitors. They expire after up to two years. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing site data in your browser, which will make the cookie banner reappear.
How we use your information
- To reply to your contact form messages and provide the information or support you've asked about.
- To understand how the site is used in aggregate so we can improve it (only if you've accepted analytics).
- To keep the site working and safe — including basic rate-limiting to prevent spam and abuse.
We never use your information to build advertising profiles, and we don't make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate the site. These providers process data on our behalf, under contract:
- Resend — delivers the email notification when you submit the contact form. Your name, email, and message pass through Resend so we can receive them.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — provides aggregated website analytics (only if you've accepted cookies; cookieless pings otherwise).
- Amazon Web Services (AWS S3) — stores media files (images, etc.) used on our website. Contact form submissions are not stored in S3.
- Our hosting and database providers — host the website and securely store contact form submissions in a Postgres database.
We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
How long we keep things
- Contact form submissions are retained for as long as we need them to respond to your request and for our internal records, typically up to 24 months, after which we delete them unless an ongoing conversation requires keeping them longer.
- Analytics data is retained by Google according to Google Analytics' default retention setting.
- Your cookie consent preference stays in your browser until you clear it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you.
- Request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information.
- Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time (by clearing site data in your browser).
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we don't sell or share — but the right exists for California residents under the CCPA/CPRA).
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority if you're in the EU or UK.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@ayaresavoices.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
How we keep your information safe
We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage with our providers, access controls limiting who on our team can see submissions, and rate-limiting to prevent abuse. No system is 100% secure, but we treat the information you share with the same care we'd want for ourselves.
International transfers
Our service providers (Google, AWS, Resend) may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, these providers use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect personal data transferred across borders.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our site may link to external resources — including mental health hotlines and other community organizations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll do our best to notify you in a more visible way.
